Bahia Chamela

The village of La Perula, around the corener of the rocks is a lagoon that goes about 2 KM

Rich in the accepted cruising attire

The vew on the homes building into the cliffs in Caryes ( some as much as 5K US per night)

January 14th
We have arrived in Bahia Chamela and we are anchored in La Perula. A cute little village. There are 3 boats here total. We are going to do some sun bathing, snorkeling and perhaps go in to town? Perhaps not. We had a great sail from Caryes to here. 5 -7 kts of breeze and boat speed of 2.5 to 4 kts. No land speed record that is for sure but we had whales breaching close to the boat and sea turtle floating around. And of course the pictures did not come out. I need a camera with a big lens for close ups. Richard had finally accepted cruising attire, naked with a sarong to cover up. We like this bay and could spend a fair amount of time here. WE wanted to go check out some of the other anchorages here, but we just don’t have the time.

We will stay here a few days, then head to Ipala, and do an early morning round of Cabo Corrientes on Sunday morning and be back in the slip. We got an e mail from a work collogue and we will take him sailing next week and fly home.
